The problem

Why this is hard without the right tool

Client paperwork tends to live wherever it was last touched. When a client rings with a question, you need to find the document while they are on the phone. Sending it should not mean attaching it to yet another email that stays in an inbox indefinitely.

How Orbis Drive helps

Step by step

  1. 1

    Add a folder per client

Use the client name consistently so that search can find it.

  2. 2

    File proposals and contracts

Keep signed and draft documents apart, with dates in the filename.

  3. 3

Send with a password when needed

Create a link lasting a few days and send the password separately.

  4. 4

    Review open links

Check the Shared links page regularly and revoke what is no longer needed.

Features and guides used here

Share a file. Keep control.

Send a link instead of an attachment. Choose how long it lasts, add a password if you need one, and revoke it when the job is done.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can each client have their own login?

Clients do not need accounts to download a shared file. If two clients must never share a space, do not invite either of them to the same workspace.

Is this suitable for confidential documents?

Files are private by default and links can be password protected, but the service is not end-to-end encrypted. Encrypt especially sensitive files before uploading, and check your own regulatory obligations.

How much does it cost to get started?

Nothing. Free includes 5 GB and every tool. Paid plans start at £2.99 a month for 100 GB when you need more space.
