The problem

Why it matters

If anyone can claim any address, invitations and ownership mean very little. Verifying email ties each Orbis Drive account to a real mailbox, which also gives every person a safe way to recover their password.

How it works

Step by step

  1. 1

Register with at least 12 characters

Longer passwords are harder to guess, so that is our minimum.

  2. 2

    Confirm your email

A link valid for 24 hours activates uploads and invitation acceptance.

  3. 3

    Sign in safely

Repeated failed attempts are limited to slow down password guessing.

  4. 4

    Reset if needed

A one-hour reset link sets a new password and signs out your other sessions.

What's covered

Everything verified accounts includes

  • Mandatory email verification for uploads
  • 12-character minimum password
  • Passwords stored as secure hashes
  • Limits on repeated attempts
  • Reset links expire after one hour
  • Password reset signs out other sessions
Where it helps

Typical uses

  • Giving each employee an individual login
  • Tying invitations to real addresses
  • Recovering a forgotten password safely
  • Cleaning up old shared logins
